Networking & Friendships

Connect with other organizations to discover potential deals by sharing contacts and listings across your network.

What is Networking?

Networking lets your organization form connections — called friendships — with other organizations on the platform. Once two organizations are connected, they can share selected contacts and listings with each other. When you run a match on a contact or listing, you can select whether to match results using your own records or from your network. This can help you to find deals you wouldn’t have discovered on your own.

Only contacts and listings you explicitly choose to share are visible to your network. In addition, AvaroAI will only shown basic contact or listings details to your network. If as networked organization finds a match, then they will need to contact you to discuss further.

How Friendships Work

A friendship is a two-way connection between organizations. It requires both sides to agree before any data is shared.

  1. One organization sends an invitation to another.
  2. The receiving organization gets an email notification with details about the invitation.
  3. The recipient accepts or declines from the friends management page.
  4. Once accepted, both organizations can see each other’s shared contacts and listings when matching.

Either organization can remove the friendship at any time, immediately ending data sharing between the two.

Managing Your Network

Viewing Your Connections

Navigate to Organization → Network to see all of your friendships. Each entry shows:

  • The connected organization’s name and email
  • The current status of the connection:
    • Accepted — the friendship is active and data sharing is enabled
    • Sent — you sent an invitation that hasn’t been accepted yet
    • Pending — another organization has invited you and is waiting for your response

Inviting an Organization

  1. Go to Organization → Network.
  2. Click the button to add a new friend.
  3. Search for the organization by name or email address.
  4. Select the organization and send the invitation.

Only organizations that have networking enabled will appear in search results. If you can’t find an organization, they may not have opted in to networking yet.

Accepting an Invitation

  1. Go to Organization → Friends.
  2. Find the invitation with a Pending status.
  3. Open the actions menu and click Accept.

The friendship becomes active immediately and both organizations can begin seeing shared data in match results.

Removing a Friendship

  1. Go to Organization → Friends.
  2. Find the friendship you want to remove.
  3. Open the actions menu and click Delete.

This works for any status — you can cancel a sent invitation, decline a pending one, or remove an accepted friendship.

Removing a friendship stops all data sharing between the two organizations immediately.

Sharing Contacts and Listings

By default, your contacts and listings are private and invisible to your network. You must explicitly mark each record as shared for it to appear in other organizations’ match results.

Sharing a Contact

  1. Open the contact you want to share.
  2. In the edit form, find the Share contact checkbox.
  3. Enable it and save.

Shared contacts will appear in match results when a connected organization runs a match on one of their listings.

Sharing a Listing

  1. Open the listing you want to share.
  2. In the edit form, find the Share listing checkbox.
  3. Enable it and save.

Shared listings will appear in match results when a connected organization runs a match on one of their contacts.

What Networked Organizations Can See

When your data appears in another organization’s match results, they see a limited view:

  • For shared listings: the public reference number, basic listing details, and your organization’s contact information.
  • For shared contacts: the contact name, match percentage, and basic contact details.

Your private data, internal references, and full management capabilities remain visible only to your own organization.

Controlling Whether Your Organization Can Be Invited

You can choose whether other organizations are able to find and invite yours.

  1. Go to Organization → Profile.
  2. Find the Allow networking checkbox.
  3. Toggle it on or off and save.

When networking is enabled, other organizations can find yours by name or email and send friendship invitations.

When networking is disabled, your organization will not appear in search results and cannot receive new invitations. Existing friendships are not affected — disabling networking only prevents new invitations from being sent to you.

Matching: Internal vs. External Results

When you run a match on a contact or listing, results are split into two categories:

  • Internal — matches from your own organization’s data. You have full access to view, edit, and manage these records.
  • External — matches from connected organizations’ shared data. You see limited details and can view contact information for the other organization to coordinate directly.

External matches only appear when:

  1. You have at least one accepted friendship.
  2. The connected organization has marked the relevant contact or listing as shared.
  3. The record matches based on the platform’s matching criteria.
